Tom Lambert is the new Township Fire Chief, replacing Ken Boring who stepped down from the post in August of 2019.
Lambert, who has been with the Weathersfield Fire Department since 1986, has served most recently as a fire captain and a safety officer. He will oversee the three fire stations in the township.
Trustee Chairman Steve Gerberry said Lambert was selected from three applicants. Additionally, the Trustees also named Jeff Tucker as new fire captain to fill Lambert’s former post at the Mineral Ridge fire station. He has been with fire department for 14 years and most recently was a fire lieutenant.
Gerberry said Lambert will make a recommendation to trustees who will fill Tucker’s former lieutenant position. Former Fire Chief Ken Boring will do fire inspections and work with the fire department and the township.
It appears that spring has sprung early this year and everyone is certainly enjoying the warm and dry weather. Please remember that open burning is not permitted within the Township. We have had several serious brush fires that placed our firefighters and our residents property at risk. Please do not open burn and enjoy the remainder of your spring.
